Alice Dix

Vocalist-Soprano

Ms Alice Dix BA (Hons)

Profile: Alice has recently graduated from Leeds College of Music with a first class honours degree in Classical Performance for Voice. In 2014 she was awarded Staffordshire’s Young Singer of the Year and in her successive years, she has been awarded the Moran and Lavy award for highest achiever and dedication to performing arts in Staffordshire; presented through The Friends of Staffordshire Young Musicians (FOSYM).

Alice studies under the tuition of Irish Soprano, Geraldine Cassidy. Alice’s operatic roles have included: Cathleen in Vaughan Williams’, Riders to the Sea for the Leodian Concert Orchestra. Lucy Lockit from Benjamin Britten’s opera, The Beggar’s Opera. Emmie from Benjamin Britten’s opera, Albert Herring. She was also a chorus member for Dorset Opera Festival 2017, featuring in Le Comte Ory by Rossini, and Faust by Charles Gounod.

She thoroughly enjoys working in collaboration with others artists. In 2016, she partook in a community outreach programme in collaboration with contemporary dancers, which was to be performed at Bramley Baths. In 2018, this was revised into an arts council funded project called ‘Dear Daisy.’

Alice is very enthusiastic about music and education and in March 2018, she helped lead workshops as part of an educational outreach programme for Leeds Lieder called 'Cool Lieder,' resulting in a performance at Leeds Town Hall. She hopes to pursue this passion further by gaining more workshop experience in the local community, helping to inspire all individuals to get involved in music making.
